Updates in ASD release 7.07: |
Conical springs:
Improved error trapping prior to iterative calculations so that ASD doesn't just "go blank".
Improved the accuracy of the free length and solid length calculations.
Fixed a problem involving an "Inconsistent" message that should not have been triggered.
Spiral torsion springs:
Plots were not getting displayed.
Torsion springs:
Arm angles at the "set" condition were not from 0 to 360 if the deflection was > 360.
Coil diameters can now be solved for if the wire size is not given.
Springs in Parallel:
Diametral spacing equations were kicking in even if the setting was turned off.
Interface:
DXF text height was not displaying properly when units were switched.

| TK Solver Player: Release 136.1 |
| Effective Date: Apr 20, 2007 |
TK Player has been updated to take advantage of the new features in the TK Solver Excel Toolkit. See the TK Solver update notes for more details on those features. TK Player runs applications created using the TK Solver - Excel Toolkit. The Toolkit has recently been enhanced to allow for linking lists of arbitrary lengths. Previously, the list length was set at the time of linking and could not vary as the inputs to the TK model varied. This update removes that restriction. Individuals who had previously downloaded TK Player must download this update to run any new TK Player applications created using this new feature. |

| Interactive Roark's Formulas Update 7.0.4 |
| Effective Date: Mar 29, 2007 |
 | New in IRF update 7.0.4 |
Additional text was added to the menu descriptions, particularly in areas where cases can be merged.
Plot labels were improved throughout.
Redundant equations were added to some cases involving hyperbolic functions to avoid extreme values. For example, if A = sinh(350), B = sinh(400), and C = cosh(400), then A*B/C causes an exponent overflow error because A*B is too large. However, since B/C = tanh(400) = 1, A*B/C = sinh(350) which can be computed.
Plates -- Large Deflections: Instead of lumping all the cases into a single model, individual models are now presented and they are more flexible (backsolvable)
Some of the cross section properties (distances from the neutral axis) for unequal leg angles were calculated incorrectly in 7.0.2 and have been corrected in 7.0.4. |
